The Corte Madera Town Band is a hidden treasure that many locals have yet to discover.
Tucked away in Redwood High School’s music room, volunteer musicians gather Thursday nights for rehearsals between the hours of 7:15 p.m. - 9:15 p.m. to rehearse for upcoming concerts and free performances within the community. The tradition has been going strong for over 20 years. Gwyn Lister, the founder and current member, started The Corte Madera Town Band in 1996 with seventeen musicians with a unique instrumental range. From bongo drums to two accordions the Town Band made its musical debut at Corte Madera’s 1996 4th of July Parade.
21 years later, The Corte Madera Town Band is hosting its Annual Spring Concert sponsored by the Corte Madera Lion’s Club and the Corte Madera Community Foundation.
The Town Band will be opening the Oktoberfest with some amazing music starting at 12:00 p.m. Please join us in the festivities!
